From Daily Grind to Dream Vacation

“Our company was operational but heavily dependent on the constant presence of us, the two directors. Taking leave was difficult, and the pressure and workload were taking a toll. We were bored with our daily routines and lacked motivation. The company relied on our involvement in every aspect. To a certain degree, we worked for work's sake, heads down, bum up and were in ignorant bliss of our own sufferings.

We knew we needed outside guidance to help us find the challenge and excitement necessary to reengage. On a friend's recommendation, whose business had thrived with his coaching, we decided to connect with The Successful Builder.

Graeme helped us analyse our business, gain clarity and direction, and design, test, and implement systems and processes that would allow the business to run effectively without our constant presence. The results have been amazing. We stepped back from our day-to-day roles to focus on teaching, upskilling, and developing leadership within our team. The team has stepped up and now takes care of most of the day-to-day operations. Additionally, our own leadership skills have grown significantly.

The company has grown more than we expected, becoming much larger and less reliant on us. Profitability has improved, and the systems and processes are functioning well enough for both of us to take time off simultaneously—something we could only dream about 12 months ago. When we return, the jobs are being handled independently. While there is still more to be done, the business now runs mostly without us. We have achieved so much in a short space of time, and we couldn’t have done this without Graeme.

As a result, we have rediscovered our original passion for the business. 

We have found new challenges in our newly defined roles, allowing us to grow not only the business but also ourselves.”
