We weren’t sure we were even making a profit, now we've more than doubled turnover
It’d been cool starting out on my own and hiring an apprentice. However, because I am good at what I do, I started to get more and more work. I seemed to be working really hard but not making anywhere near the kind of money I expected. We didn’t even know if our business was even profitable - actually it wasn’t! Then it started to get harder and harder to get good clients. We knew where we wanted to be with our business but didn’t have a pathway to get there. I’d lost my passion for the business, lacked confidence, felt lost and without purpose.
When we started working with The Successful Builder, we focused first of all on developing our sales process - with scripts and resources to raise our conversion rate from quotation to sale. We then put in place on-site systems and processes to improve productivity and to help our team members work better without me. Next we developed our financial literacy so we could get a snapshot of where we were at any point in time, a workflow planner so we could plan and schedule carefully and a 90 Day Planning system so we could focus on strategies in a systematic manner.
It’s been priceless. We have grown in our confidence. We know what we are doing and where we are going. Our conversion rate has improved dramatically, turnover has more than doubled - and is growing - and we are now making money. Our 90 Day Planning is giving us clearer direction and we are now working towards our longer term goals.
